EX MLB player rescued at Sea
Ex-MLB player Angel Pagán and professional baseball player Orlando Román were rescued at sea this morning.
Authorities informed that the men were rescued off the coast of Puerto Rico at 7:09 am, Tuesday morning after a 15–foot wave flipped their boat. They were accompanied by a minor.
The boat capsized between the river mouth and Cibuco beach in the town of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico.
Vega Alta is in the northern coast of the island, roughly an hour away from San Juan.
Angel Págan played in the Major Leagues for the Cubs, Mets and Giants. In 11 seasons, he accumulated 1143 hits and had a .280 batting average. Pagán won a World Series ring with the Giants in 2012.
Orlando Román was drafted in the 31st round by the Mets in 1999. He pitched for 20 years in Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States. During his professional career, he won 67 games and had a 3.70 ERA.
