Walker Buehler was simply electric.
The Dodgers youngest starter allowed a single run, offering no free passes on a season high, 8 stellar innings over the Diamondbacks in the 3-1 Dodgers win on Monday night at Arizona.
He also gave up only 2 hits, one of them a home run from Christian Walker to break a perfect game with 2 outs in the fifth inning. The other hit came from with two outs in the 8th inning.
By the way, of Buehler’s 24 outs, 11 came via the three strikes variety, also a season best.
He fell one short of his career best 12 strikeouts, which came last September 19, at home vs the Colorado Rockies.

Walker Buehler turns in perhaps his best outing of his career
This start marks only the second time that Dodgers’ Buehler goes for 8 frames, but the first one without walking a hitter.
Location and command were off the charts. He was fiercely hitting all four quadrants of the strike zone, with both the fastball and his secondary pitches.
Buehler’s first time around the Diamondbacks lineup, he was using his fastball a lot to go up on the count.
His second and third time around, he started mixing in his curveball and cutter a little bit more, to compliment his laser beam 4-seam fastball, which topped out at 98 MPH for the night.

Walker Buehler was so into the game tonight that after Ildemaro Vargas struck out looking, they starting barking at each other while they went their way.
With a 0.25 WHIP for the game, this has been Buehler’s best average for this season so far, with only 2 runners allowed on those 8 innings.
With the win, Buehler improves to 6-1, with an ERA that dropped to 3.69, from 4.04. Also, the Dodgers saw their record get to 42-19, best record in MLB.
